- Summary
- Socialite and museum designer Amanda Bell, honoring her archaeologist's father's last request, travels to the Navajo reservation in Monument Valley where he died in a car crash to deliver his papers to the cultural center. She decides to stay and archive the collection against the wishes of her mother and her former fiance. The reservation is the antithesis of Beverly Hills, where Amanda was raised, but the longer she stays, the more comfortable she becomes. Except with enigmatic Durango Yazzie, a Hollywood director who has returned home to immerse himself in his heritage. Tall, blond Amanda is not on his agenda, even though she keeps entering his thoughts. And Amanda's effort to find out what exactly happened to her father--the accident report is full of inconsistencies, and his body has never been found--also gets Durango's attention. Harrison's top-notch romantic suspense novel sheds light on the beauty of the land and culture of the Navajo
