- Jabez, a decendant of Judah, is briefly mentioned in scripture with only two verses. In those approximately 30 words, he lifted his prayer to God: "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me free from harm so that I will be free from pain." God granted his request. Using Jabez's prayer, and applying it towards healthy weight loss, gives seven principles to effectively lose weight and live a healthy life
