- Originally prepared for Governor John Endecott. Passed under unknown circumstances to Captain Edward Hutchinson, son of Anne Hutchinson, and eventually to his great-grandson Thomas Hutchinson, last royal governor of Massachusetts, and was removed by him to England in 1774. Likely returned to the U.S. by Thomas Aspinwall, U.S. consul in London, in 1853 and subsequently purchased by New York attorney Samuel L.M. Barlow whose library was auctioned in 1890 when this work was purchased (catalog # 2765) by the Boston Public Library.
