- Summary
- Oliver Johnson writes William Lloyd Garrison thanking him for his letter expressing "the sympathy which is a balm" concerning the diminishing health of Johnson's wife, Mary Anne. Johnson states that Mary Anne's health is failing "surely if not rapidly", and that there is "no hope for recovery', stating his belief that she would pass within weeks. Johnson states that he read Garrison's last letter aloud to Mary Anne, who sends her love and gratefulness to both William Lloyd and Helen Garrison for their years of kindess and friendship. Johnson closes in stating that Mary Livermore will be speaking at the Yearly Meeting in Longwood, but that his own participation is much less likely
