- Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy G.3940.12 is the third of three items bound together in a volume titled "Britton--William Shakespeare." This volume is quarterbound in green morocco and papier tourniquet. The armorial bookplate of the Barton Library is present on the front pastedown. T.P. Barton's instructions to his binder are laid onto the rear pastedown. This copy is interleaved, with occasional annotations, some in Britton's hand, including a bibliographical note on the blank sheet bound-in after page 52. Also bound into this volume are [1]: a note, from Britton to John Russell Smith, dated Oct. 18, 1855, and [2]: Tributary lines to John Britton, Esq., author of "Architectural and cathedral antiquities of Great Britain," &c. &c. / by Thomas Clark. Each of these items are also cataloged separately.
