- Summary
- Benjamin Rush Plumly writes William Lloyd Garrison to make payment for his subscription to the "Liberator". Plumly informs Garrison that they are conducting weekly anti-slavery meetings, and states that they are "well attended and grow quite spirited". Plumly offers an account of their December meeting, and states that the Executive Committee members have "prepared & published" a "disunion petition", which they plan to issue to "every member of Congress & of our State Legislature". Plumly recounts the political news of the Democratic Party in the state on the issues of Union and slavery, and states that the Whigs are "preparing to defeat them"
