• SCNHRB c. 1, t. 1 has an old half-leather binding with brown paste-paper boards; raised bands; gilt-tooled spine (re-backed); marbled endpapers, and red edges (t. 1, pars 1 and t. 1, pars 2 are bound together). Tome 2 has a modern blue buckram binding with a gilt-tooled spine ("Division of Crustacea" stamped at foot of spine), and red edges, with Townsend Book Bindery label on back paste-down endpaper.
