Volume 1 bound as issued, but with a letter from Francis Horsfall to Thomas Pennant Barton, along with a prospectus for the set bound-in at the front. Bound-in with vol. 5 are pieces of manuscript correspondence between Halliwell-Phillipps and William Fairholt. The armorial bookplate of the Barton Library is present on the front pastedown of each volume. Vols. 1-9 contain limitation statements signed by both Halliwell-Phillipps and Adlard, all numbered as copy 110. The remainder are unsigned and unnumbered.
