  • Title is that on preliminary letterpress leaf, printed black & red, with imprint: Paris, M.DCC.LXIV (1764). This is the date of the frères Cramer's Geneva ed. of Le théâtre de Corneille, with commentaries by Voltaire. It was reissued in 1765 and 1773, with a Paris ed. in 1797. See Brunet

  • Binding: 20th-century red goatskin, gilt tooled, edges gilt. Each print mounted and matted. Blank leaves bound in as place holders before the 3 prints present only avec la lettre (those for La toison d'or, Tite et Bérénice, Suréna).
  • Label of Henri Bonnasse, printed in gilt on brown goatskin. Etched bookplate with monogram AR.
  • Bound in at end is MS letter dated 31 Jan. 1935 from Seymour de Ricci to "Monsieur Carteret" (Léopold Carteret?). In it de Ricci assures Carteret that complete suites of Gravelot's ill. for Corneille's Théâtre are extremely rare in the form of etchings or avant la lettre.
