Front pastedown includes ex libris (bookplate) of the Boston Public Library including shelf marks in ink script. Head of printed wrapper includes shelf mark at fore-edge in ink script. Verso of title page includes shelf mark in pencil script at head-/spine-edge of leaf, and annotations (largely illegible) in pencil script concerning aquisition and accession information. Inserted following title page is an A.N.S., composed on the stationary of the Saturday Evening Gazette, by Frank H. Forbes stating that this was written by his father, Abner Forbes, and himself, and that it was supplemented by the "Rich men of Massachusetts." Rear pastedown includes "FEB 14 1947" stamped in faded green ink at head-/fore-edge of leaf. Printed on wove papers.
