Summary
Charles Turner Torrey writes to Amos A. Phelps requesting him to "Come to the rescue lest our moral reform women disgrace themselves and their cause irreparably." Torrey explains that there is a conflict within the moral reform women of Salem, between "the Board" and "Mrs. S.B. Ordway." He tells Phelps of his proposed solution and how it was abandoned by the Board
