- Translation of: The history of Ned Evans; a tale of the times, first printed London, 1796
- Fictitious Indian captivity narrative. Ned Evans served with the British in South Carolina and, while wandering in the woods, was captured by a party of Cherokee Indians, after an engagement in which the British were defeated. He was adopted in the tribe with whom he remained for about eighteen months. Leaving the Indians by consent, he endeavored to find his way back to Charlestown, where he arrived to find that peace had been declared and his regiment ordered home. His experiences while a captive among the Cherokees occupy nearly 100 pages of volume three. Cf. Vail
