- The engraved title pages were executed by Peter Iselberg (ca. 1568-1630) after original artwork by Johann Hauer (1579-1637)
- The place of publication and name of publisher are taken from the title page of t.I; the imprint date from the colophon of t.III
- The first three parts, previously issued separately, were originally published together in 1618 under the title: Geometriae practicae novae. All four parts were issued together for the first time in 1627.--Cf. NUC pre-1956
- Each tractatus has an engraved, pictorial title page within an ornamented architectural border, along with separate pagination and signature registers
- The woodcut illustrations within the four parts of this work show geometrical concepts and proofs, both in the abstract and as applied to surveying, the latter illustrating various measuring tools as well as surveying techniques superimposed onto maps and scenes of everyday life

- Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy bound in full, early vellum over boards with a manuscript label, in an early hand, at the head of its spine. All text block edges are stained black. An ink stamp on the front pastedown reads: "Gerschel's Antiquariat Stuttgart." There is an illegible signature, in iron gall ink, at the foot of the title page of t.I.
