- Biographical or historical data
- Dr. Bartlett attended Ohio Wesleyan University, and received his M.S. and Ph.D. from Brown University. Bartlett taught history at Rhode Island College of Education, M.I.T. and was a Professor of American Studies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. He has published books on abolition and biographies of early Americans: Wendell Phillips, Daniel Webster, and John C. Calhoun. Dr. Irving Bartlett was appointed in October 1960 as the first director of the Cape Cod Community College, where he served until December 1963.
