A number of artists were employed in the creation of the illustrations, including Frederick MacKenzie, John Le Keux, John Roffe, Charles Wild, George Shepherd, and Samuel Rawle

Boston Public Library (Rare Books Department) copy halfbound in sheepskin with Spanish marbled paper over boards. The spine is panelled and tooled in gilt and all text block edges are sprinkled red. An inscription at the head of the front flyleaf reads, "With the author's compliments to Mrs. Perrin[?]." A second inscription, in a later hand, reads, "[...] P. Clement, August 1855."
